Target Market Determination (TMD)
A TMD describes the class of consumers for whom a financial product is designed, and helps ensure products are distributed appropriately.
What is a TMD?
Under the design and distribution obligations (DDO) regime, financial product issuers and distributors are required to publish a Target Market Determination for each product. The TMD sets out the target market for the product, its key attributes, and any distribution conditions.
